Welcome to the website of… ….THE HELLION The Midwest’s Premier Judas Priest Tribute |

The Hellion can be traced back to 1992 when Andy, Jeff, and Gene were in the band Prophecy. Prophecy remained a steady draw in the Milwaukee area until 1994. Although the three of them kept in contact throughout the years, it was Judas Priest’s October 2005 Milwaukee show that ultimately led to the birth of The Hellion.
Jeff received his first guitar at the age of 12 as a gift from his parents. After teaching himself the basics, Jeff made the switch to Bass. Shortly thereafter, he began playing in what ended up being a long list of Milwaukee area bands most notably, Quarantine and Prophecy. In 2004, Jeff decided it was time to return to his “first love” the guitar. For Jeff, playing music has always been about taking on the challenge of learning new material, and then performing it live at the highest possible quality. Jeff states, “I’ve always been drawn to the heavier side of music.” His influences include Dave Murray, Adrian Smith, Randy Rhoads, not to mention K.K. Downing and Glen Tipton .
Ralph, as many other Bass players will attest, didn’t start out to be a bassist. Ralph wanted, “To be a singer or a guitar player because they got all the girls.” However, his first band was in dire need of a bassist, so Ralph stepped up. He, like Jeff, enjoys rising to meet the unique challenges a music career can bring. Ralph, like the other members of The Hellion, also spent a number of years in the Milwaukee music scene, and likens himself to Steve Harris (Bassist, Iron Maiden) – the quiet workhorse in the background, “I never brag, I’d much rather be judged on my performance than anything else,” Ralph confesses.
Danny grew up in a family that had a total love for Rock & Roll, from Elvis and The Beatles, to Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple, he had a very diverse musical background. It was 1978 when a friend gave him a copy of Judas Priest’s “Sad Wings of Destiny”. Danny states, “I was hooked. I had never heard anything so powerful, melodic, and intense. I was an instant fan and follower of Judas Priest”. (click here to continue on next page) |
